Malaysian PM dissolves parliament and calls early election amid political strife

Malaysia’s prime minister, Ismail Sabri Yaakob, has entailed associate early election, hoping to win a stronger mandate for his party and stabilise the rocky political landscape that has overrun the country over the last four years.

The ruling party’s rush for associate election comes because the economy, still sick from the Covid pandemic, has begun to feel the pinch of rising prices and a worldwide lag.
